Purpose Built

Our 6000 sq ft dedicated Pool Complex houses the biggest purpose-built diver training pool in New Zealand. Computer controlled to match the salt levels of your own eyes for comfort and gas heated to around 22°C all year round, this 4.2m deep, 670,000 litre pool makes getting into diving easy.

Bigger is sometimes better.

Our pool is big enough to have two clases of twelve at the same time, but we have a maximum of only eight divers per course! The whole pool is deep water, with a shallow platform built into the side. This ensures you have much more room to swim around than other pools. Why is this important? Smaller pools that other stores have built, give you no room to swim and get used to buoyancy control while swimming. This is very important to your safety and confidence in the sea. We even have anchor ropes going down into the middle of the pool to allow you to practise descending like you will in the sea. All this design makes your transitiion to diving in the sea easier, and anything that does that is a good thing!

We also have three classrooms on-site, all our class equipment, and our two 6m RIB's (Rigid Inflatable boats) that we use for your four dives in the sea.

Equipment

Because we are the longest running shop in NZ, we have been around long enough to have invested in a range of different types of class equipment for you to use. We have Weight Integrated BCD's and Air Integrated Computers with Balanced Reg's so you can know what top-of-the-line equipment feels like. We also train you in the use of weight belts, standard computers and normal BCD's as some people are happy to hire their equipment to start with and you need to be familiar with different types of equipment.
