The underwater environment varies greatly from area to area, but no more so than in the creatures that live there. The ability to identify various aquatic life is not just good for personal satisfaction, but to also understand behaviour patterns and characteristics of the different creatures you are interacting with.
What's involved?
The Dive Centre Underwater Naturalist course begins by providing you with a greater understanding of the different categories of aquatic life and will go into specifics of the NZ underwater world. We do one theory session over one evening, and then two dives at the Poor Knights Marine Reserve the following Sunday.
